She was walking slowly, her head held high, until she reached the place where she sold awara (fried soy cakes). She arranged her frying materials, which had already been brought for her before she arrived. Without wasting time, she started frying the awara, and as usual, customers quickly came to buy. Before you could say a word, she had sold everything. She collected all her money.
She found three young boys and asked them to help her carry her things. As they walked ahead, she followed them.
She walked gracefully, almost like she was floating. She had four long braids that reached down to her back, thick and jet black. She had earphones in her ears, listening to Rush by Ayra Starr.
As she was passing by a gathering of boys, Tareeq and his friends, one of them, Zayyad, said, "Look, here comes the demoness."
Ja’afar laughed and said, "Then go and greet her."
Zayyad quickly refused, "Please, spare me!"
Tareeq scoffed, "Bullshit. Why are you guys always acting scared of her?" He stopped talking suddenly.
Zayyad burst into laughter. "I know what you were about to say. You were about to ask why we are afraid of her, right? But you, you’re not scared of her, are you?"
"For real, I dare you to go and confess your love to her right now!" Zayyad challenged.
Ja’afar just kept laughing to himself.
Tareeq, now really angry, started walking straight toward her.
