She let out a deep breath and whispered softly, “Alhamdulillah, he’s still around.”
With that, she quickened her steps toward the entrance of a place called Cozy. Just as she was about to push the door open, she paused for a moment, looking down at herself. She was wearing white jeans that hugged her figure perfectly, along with a beautiful dark blue top that stopped just above her waist. A white scarf was neatly wrapped around her head, complementing her appearance. Her long, neatly braided hair peeked out slightly, making her look even more elegant.
In her hands, she carried two books and an iPhone 13, while a small handbag hung over her shoulder. She took another deep breath. Anyone who saw her could tell she was nervous. Slowly, she reached for the door and stepped inside.
The place was a well-decorated eatery and bar, with a classy and modern feel. There weren’t many people around, and most of the customers were foreigners—white people. Even the staff were mostly white, making it clear that this place belonged to a foreigner.
She walked slowly, scanning the entire space with the corner of her eye. Finally, she reached the counter, pulled out a chair, and sat down. She placed her books and phone on the table in front of her.
Just then, a foreign bartender approached and asked, “What can I get you, miss?”
She turned her head slightly, as if searching for something, before replying, “Pierre Z?ro Rosé, please. Two shots.”
The bartender noticed that she didn’t even bother looking at him while speaking, but he simply nodded and said, “Gotcha.” He then turned around, grabbed the bottle of wine she had ordered, poured two shots into glasses, and placed them in front of her. “Here we go,” he said.
She quickly turned to look at him, then reached into her bag and pulled out some money. Handing it to him, she said, “Keep the change.” Before he could even respond, she turned her head away again and began scanning the people in the restaurant, observing them one by one…
